I used it for the first time in Mexico today. Its soooooooo bad I cant stress enough. I normally use the Soundcraft Vi6 with the band I work for and I thought I'd try out the iLive seeing as it was on the local spec. I was wanting to smash it after the first hour of wondering how to do the simplest of tasks. Its so not intuative, its pre amps sound terrible, compression really colours the sound of the channel strip and the FX sound rubbish. The cheap plastic-y buttons did my head in, constantly sticking in the down position and the touchscreen is very unresponsive. Stay away from this cheap attempt at a live console.

I meet engineers who enjoy using alsorts of desks, some really rate the iLive pre amps and FX. I have read a comment from Rumpelstiltskin in Mexico. Learn to mix before you stamp your foot.

Love the color coded strips. FX have a restraint that others should follow, more is often too much. V flexible, great to be able to run the show from surface and lap top. Can save having a second surface or have the chance to run mons from FoH or v a v. Total show redundancy with two surfaces and still fall back to lap top.

Yes for the colour strips!! Layers become so obvious. so much GEQ/PEQ/input processing available (mixer heaven at no extra cost). Finding it quite transparent, makesyou very aware of the source material.
