Great review! But... Thanks to Apple or Mackie, this is the single most useless piece of device that I've ever purchased. You will not be able to run The 1200f on any platform after Mac OSX 10.4.9, or Windows Vista. However, You may run it in XP-mode in W7p and Ultimate(haven't tried that yet) or through virtual box. Currently I'm trying to run it in Windows XP Professional SP3. Sometimes my pc is reckognizing the 1200f, but usually it doesn't. When it in rare cases does and I'm able to install the drivers properly, the firewire-connection is very unstable. The audio-output-connections, fails after installing a new plugin, but also when trying to load vst-plugins. Same is happening when using The 1200f with another pc, running the same operative-system. It is of course extremely annoying. Almost as annoying as it get comic. Built for the future, according to Mackie's official descriptions. I've almost given it up. So now I will be saving money for a MOTU 828 MK III HYBRID. It has 16 channels of ADAT i/o and both firewire and a usb 2.0 connection. Hopefully it will work properly. Question is of course wether the Mackie 1200f in practice, not just in theory, is capable of being synchronized with any external equipment at all? Answer is anyway, that I personally will never, ever buy any Mackie product again. Links: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1313093?start=0&tstart=0
