Video: Extreme Makeover—Home Studio Edition

These days, having a home production environment is a given for music professionals, but unless you're one of the few who can decorate your pad with Gold and Platinum record awards, odds are that your home studio wound up going in a small, cramped space. Someone at Ikea picked up on that recently, and the result is Harry’s Records
, a new video short that is quickly going viral.
In the mini-documentary, we meet UK dance producer Harry Love, his small family, his even smaller home studio, and the sprawling, out-of-control mish-mash of gear, keyboards and 4,500 vinyl records that has taken over his home. Before long, Ikea steps in and revamps his tiny workspace, making it all tidy and attractive, if not perhaps entirely ready for real-world production (who’s ever stored floppies sideways?). Still, it is kind of impressive.
We spotted the Soundcraft Ghost console and an old E-mu SP-1200 sampler—what other gear does Harry have crammed in there? If you were fixing the space, how would you set it up differently? Tell us in the Comments Section below.
