Asheville, NC (July 20, 2017)—Since its founding in the mid-1990s, d&b audiotechnik US Group—the U.S. arm of d&b audiotechnik—has made its mark on the North American live sound market, with numerous national tour sound providers and notable installations making use of the Germany company’s loudspeaker products. A major key to that success has been longtime CEO Colin Beveridge, who has led the company since its start. Big changes, however, lay ahead for the U.S. division, it was announced today, as Beveridge is stepping down from the role in order to ease into a planned retirement.

He won’t be putting d&b in his rearview mirror just yet, however, as he will shifting to a new role within the company as Senior Strategic Advisor, sharing insights and experience with both the new management team in the Americas and the parent company in Backnang, Germany. Before that happens, however, he’ll be aiding the leadership transition for his newly appointed successor, William Cornell, who has assumed the title of territory manager for the Americas and president and CEO of d&b audiotechnik US Group. Part of the company for 13 years, he previously oversaw sales and technical services in the USA.

Beveridge will support Cornell throughout the transition until February next year. “What is important now, said Beveridge, “is to concentrate on ensuring a smooth transition, then to focus on the future endeavors of d&b in my new role.”

Along with that change, the U.S. arm now has a chief operating officer for the first time, in the form of Jan Scheffels, relocating from Germany where he was head of Corporate Development at d&b. Now based in Asheville, NC and reporting to Cornell, Scheffels is responsible for customer service, finance/controlling, human resources, it, legal and buildings.

“We would like to say a big thank you to Colin for his groundbreaking work and many successes over the years,” says Group CEO Amnon Harman. “Under his responsibility d&b in North America has grown from an almost unknown German brand, to one of the leading providers of professional audio solutions in the Americas. This market now stands for 30% of the revenue of d&b worldwide. I am convinced that our powerful team across the Americas will further develop this growth market under the leadership of William and Jan.”
