imgWimberley, TX (March 28, 2013)—Blue Rock Artist Ranch and Studio in Wimberley, TX installed a new Rupert Neve Designs 5088 mixing console this month, just in time for its seventh anniversary. At a SXSW event/studio anniversary event, the man himself, Rupert Neve, was on-hand to sign the desk for owner/producer Billy Crockett.
Blue Rock Artist Ranch and Studio is a destination recording studio built in an 18th-century style of Texas stone and wood. Based 40 minutes outside Austin, the studio accommodates solo artists to full orchestras with five cutting rooms, its own engineering and production staff and more. Other gear on-site includes classic compressors, EQs and ambient processors by Chandler, Shadow Hills, Mercury, Bricasti, and others, as well as an Avid Pro Tools HD3 system with converters by Apogee and Prism. Artists including Lyle Lovett, Sarah Jarosz, Darryl Purpose and Mary Gauthier have recorded at Blue Rock Studio.
