Ostrava, Czech Republic (December 16, 2011)—The European and UK legs of the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ I’m With You
tour has an L-Acoustics K1 line array along for the ride.
Due to the tour, L-Acoustics’ Czech Republic rental network agent High Lite Touring is reportedly the first Eastern European rental company to supply the main PA system for an international tou, providing an L-Acoustics K1 WST line source system for the UK and European leg of the Chili Peppers’ world tour, which continues through Europe during December, having kicked off at the Lanxess Arena in Cologne in early October.
The main system for the tour consists of 32 K1 boxes with 32 SB28 subwoofers, 54 Kara (36 for sidefill, 12 for downfill, and six for centerfill) and 12 Kudo for rearfill. The system is powered by 50 L-Acoustics LA8 amplified controllers mounted in LA-Raks.
“The artist insisted on using a K1 system for the entire tour since it has a reputation for being one of the best sound systems in the world,” says High Lite’s Borek Jirik. “Obviously shows on this level cannot compromise on the quality served to the fans. We are happy we were able to meet the criteria.”
While it’s standard practice for Central and Eastern European rental companies to supply top range equipment for local shows, international one-offs, joint ventures and festivals, opportunities are arising to participate on a wider scale.
“We very much hope that a choice of supplier from the Czech Republic for this level of tour will help to get local companies into the focus of the international touring business, and to become a part of the international live music industry,” adds Jirik.
