Yonkers, NY (July 12, 2013)—Pittsburgh, PA-based AV systems integrator Dobil Laboratories recently outfitted Dan Rooney’s Café & Bar at the Empire City Casino at Yonkers Raceway with a new sound system from D.A.S. Audio. The nightspot includes 35 flat screen TVs for sports entertainment, dueling pianos, and offers a selection of Irish food and beverages.
Dobil Laboratories’ Project Manager Conor McCaskey selected one D.A.S. LX-212A self-powered band pass sub bass system, four Convert 12A powered, curved source array enclosures, and two Road 12A powered stage monitors for the new restaurant.
“The four D.A.S. Convert 12As serve as the main loudspeakers,” McCaskey explained. “Because of the space limitations, these are positioned directly overhead the two pianos—suspended from a compact, circular trussing system we had manufactured for the project. Each performer has their own Road 12A stage monitor to ensure they can hear clearly, and for low frequency support, the D.A.S. LX-212A is recessed into the ceiling, so it’s completely hidden.”
All the loudspeaker systems are self-powered, eliminating the need for McCaskey to find a place for amplifiers and cabling.
