imgNashville, TN (June 16, 2014)—Pro Audio is making inroads at Sumer NAMM, say officials, citing stats that show the number of pro audio exhibitors for the annual Nashville event is up 27 percent over 2013. Taking place July 17-19, 113 the show will include Earthworks, Digital Audio Labs, Slate Digital, Avid, BOSS, Samson Technologies, TC Electronic and others.

Bolstering this move, says NAMM, is the ever-growing preponderance of pro-audio gear aimed at self-recording musicians. The organization claimed that in the last five years, sales of pro audio equipment have increased by nearly 23 percent, while sales of plug-in software and loops have increased 29 percent percent in the past year.

NAMM cited John Grabowski, senior director of merchandising at Sweetwater, who said, “Recording is way more plug-and-play and affordable than it's ever been. Whether they're recording on a home computer, laptop, iPad, or even a smartphone, it's just everywhere.'"

NAMM also noted how Full Compass Systems' Kevin Peckham had remarked," People are energized or inspired to make music and now they want to move up the quality and what they can do with it," he said. "It means a lot more people making music, and that's a good thing."

Pro audio specialists like Sweetwater and Full Compass are expected to visit the expanded show floor said the organization, adding that exhibit space is still available Summer NAMM.
