Moscow, Russia (August 23, 2017)—Alexander Knatz, audio engineer for TV Skyline, relied on a selection of equipment from Wisycom when eight of the world’s best soccer teams went to Russia for the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup.

TV Skyline was onsite as the only German OB company involved in the event, with its Ü7 OB van. Knatz was pitch-side at Moscow’s Otkritie Arena to ensure seamless IFB coverage of the venue’s matches for the two-week long tournament.

All staff members using Wisycom, including floor managers, wireless camera operators and directors, could walk throughout the entire stadium and hear their cues without interference. The complete RF-over-fiber system included Wisycom’s MFL wideband optical link, CSI16T passive wideband combiner and MTK 952N dual transmitter. With the MFL system, all its users were easily able to tune into one frequency no matter their location, allowing them to go virtually anywhere in the arena without reception problems.

“The Wisycom gear we used provided better sound and coverage, flawless fiber connection and wider distribution than anything we have used in the past,” says Knatz. “The seamless area coverage for Wisycom’s IFB’s is unrivaled. The Wisycom solutions keep all IFB transmitters powered up and ready to go, so we are never waiting on the gear.”

Since being introduced to Wisycom, Knatz has relied on the company exclusively for his RF needs: “With its amazing RF performance and range, there is no reason to use anything else. Combine that with Wisycom’s excellent, friendly and fast customer service responses and it’s easy to see why we only use Wisycom products for wireless applications.”
