A dLive at the Opera

Mixing consoles and liquid typically don’t mix, but they came close when the FINA World Aquatic Championships 2017 held its gala/awards ceremony at Budapest’s Opera House; sound for the occasion was mixed on an Allen & Heath dLive S Class mixing system.

Budapest, Hungary (October 6, 2017)—Mixing consoles and liquid typically don’t mix, but they came close when the FINA World Aquatic Championships 2017 held its gala/awards ceremony at Budapest’s Opera House; sound for the occasion was mixed on an Allen & Heath dLive S Class mixing system.

Regional audio provider AV Advice Ltd. brought in the dLive system, which comprised a S7000 Surface equipped with Dante and Waves interface cards, a DM64 MixRack, and two DX32 expander racks with redundant connections to the MixRack.

There was also an IP8 controller to provide sound engineers with remote access.

The system managed live sound requirements and provided a multitrack broadcast feed for a national TV channel. Mixing for the occasion was handled by sound engineers Baranya Tamás and Turcsán András.
