Sensaphonics Educates At Ultra Music Fest

Sensaphonics partnered with audiologists from University of Miami UHealth at last weekend’s Ultra Music Festival in an effort to promote healthy listening to the estimated 100,000-plus electronic music fans that converged on downtown Miami’s Bayfront Park.

Miami, FL (March 24, 2016)—Sensaphonics partnered with audiologists from University of Miami UHealth at last weekend’s Ultra Music Festival in an effort to promote healthy listening to the estimated 100,000-plus electronic music fans that converged on downtown Miami’s Bayfront Park.

Sensaphonics president, Dr. Michael Santucci, was on hand, working with Gold Circle audiologists Dana Libman and Tricia Scaglione of UHealth to educate and raise awareness of the importance of hearing health wellness to performers and fans alike.

In all, Sensaphonics donated more than 1,000 pairs of universal-fit earplugs as part of its festival outreach. The company also manufactures high-fidelity, custom-fit Musicians Earplugs.

“Hearing injury is a function of both volume levels and exposure time. A long electronic music show is a lot of fun, but it can also lead to auditory injuries,” said Dr. Santucci. “We want to send the message that, with smart listening strategies and high quality hearing protection, music fans can maintain their hearing wellness while still enjoying a high-impact, full range festival experience. And more importantly, they can keep enjoying the music they love long term.”

UHealth and Sensaphonics occupied a tent in the festival village, where attendees were able to receive universal-fit earplugs and discuss option for hearing wellness with audiologists who specialize in preventing music-induced hearing disorders.
