Like most composers, Jordan is always working on new musical ideas, and long ago got into the habit of keeping a handheld recorder nearby. "They're ubiquitous in my life," he confirms. "Pretty much every time I pick up a guitar, I have one running."
Recently, he's used the new Tascam DR-100mkIII handheld digital recorder, a 192 kHz/24-bit portable recorder designed for professionals. "The DR-100mkIII is the first handheld recorder I've used that really delivers high, high quality audio," Jordan observes. "This thing is so far superior in its ability to record the most pristine acoustic guitar sounds and classical guitar sounds. Because of the high sample rates, it gives you the ability to capture those sparkling, bright, crystal-clear tones that bring so much to the sound of the guitar."
