San Diego, CA (March 11, 2014)—VUE Audiotechnik is introducing its hs-20 subwoofer with Active Compliance Management (ACM) technology this week at Prolight+Sound expo.
Originally developed for the hs-28 and hs-25 systems, VUE's ACM technology combines hybrid transducer alignment with onboard electronics with the intention of providing output and low frequency impact while minimizing overall enclosure dimensions.
The new hs-20 features dual 10-inch, long-excursion woofers with dual layer, inside/outside wound 64 mm voice coils. Onboard electronics include ACM-optimized DSP, and dual-channel high-efficiency amplifiers, providing 500W long term sine wave power (800W "peak" power) for each woofer.
The hs-20 ships with SystemVUE networking as standard, allowing users to connect one or multiple h-Class systems together via wired or wireless Ethernet to a Windows or Macintosh computer. Once connected, SystemVUE Software provides access to various network and device-level control and monitoring functions.
The hs-20's drivers and electronics are housed in a birch plywood enclosure that includes an integrated pole-mount. The hs-20's grill and handle surrounds receive a two-part finish that lays a coat of transparent candy-apple red over a black powered coat base for a deep hue. The signature h-Class look is completed with a heavy aluminum rear panel that features a machined logo integrated into the heat sinks.
