Guildford, UK (November 2, 2017)—It’s always been said that going to college opens up new vistas for students, but recently in the University of Surrey’s case, it opened up a new Vista, singular. In other words, the school purchased a Studer Vista 1 console.

Purchased from HHB Communications Ltd., the new desk is housed in the university’s classical recording studio, Studio 1, where it’s used for projects and the teaching of audio engineering, theory and practical study of music and sound recording.

‘There are many Studer Vista owners in industry, including Chandos, the Royal Opera House, the BBC, and many OB trucks, which makes it perfect for training students for their future careers,” commented Russell Mason, Senior Lecturer of the university’s Tonmeister course.

Mason added, “The user interface is a brilliant combination of touchscreens and embedded rotary encoders – all the students so far have been impressed with how intuitive it is, which means it’s quick to learn and easy to use in high-pressure situations.”
