Pasadena, CA (October 14, 2004)–5 Alarm Music, a leading supplier of innovative music libraries, has announced CinemaSounds, a collection of 24 cuts produced specifically for use in high-energy trailers, TV promos and games. For added versatility, the material is available in stereo on audio Compact Discs, as well as discrete 5.1 channel elements on DVD-Rs.
“There has been a lack of well-produced surround music for these markets,” conceded Cassie Lord, 5 Alarm Music’s general manager. “All of the tracks on CinemaSounds were composed with 5.1 in mind. We have used the talents of two innovative composers–Linda Martinez and Gabriel Shadid–working with a brilliant surround engineer, Greg Townley, to prepare a collection of high-impact cuts that will find application on a wide range of 5.1-channel movie trailers, TV promos and game soundtracks.”
Each composer contributed 12 compositions to CinemaSounds, which was recorded and mixed by Townley at Firehouse Recording Studios, Pasadena.
“Linda has composed exciting music for many, many film and TV scores,” Cassie Lord said, “including The XY Factor and Egypt: Beyond the Pyramids for The History Channel, plus Columbia-Tristar’s The Princess and the Marine.
Of Gabriel Shadid, Cassie Lord said, “He has already composed several libraries, including a successful, dramatic sound design CD for 5 Alarm Music; his contribution to CinemaSounds is exactly what trailer and promo departments will be looking for.”
Greg Townley has been an award-winning scoring mixer in Los Angeles for 22 years, and involved in music sound design for over a decade. Landmark projects include Blackhawk Down, Almost Famous, Sideways plus Jeepers Creepers 1 and Jeepers Creepers 2.
