Nashville, TN (April 15, 2010)–615 Music has launched Song Street Records, a licensing catalog it is calling “a virtual record label for a virtual world.”
Randy Wachtler, 615 Music president and CEO, said, “Our focus with Song Street Records is clear. We connect the very best of emerging and indie artists with producers and music supervisors in film, TV, and other new media platforms. Song Street Records is a one-stop licensing catalog–we control synchronization and master rights. A single call from one of our customers will get them the exact piece of music they need and the license they need to use it, fast and easy!”
He adds, “We’ve been fortunate to have developed a broad customer base in film, TV and beyond, while cultivating relationships with new artists and bands. Therefore, it was a natural evolution that we would decide to connect the two. Our model with Song Street Records will be different than many of our competitors’, in that we represent artists on an exclusive basis.”
Leveraging 615 Music’s sales, marketing, A&R and production teams, Song Street Records will identify up and coming artists, secure placements, and do licensing legwork. Clients will also have the ability to find the track themselves with Song Street Records’ search engine. All distribution is digital, from streaming to download, directly to the client.
