Nashville, TN (April 13, 2006)–Randy Wachtler, president/CEO, 615 Music, announced that the company has been nominated for a National Emmy Award for its “Live for Today” theme song used by The Today Show, which airs on NBC. The awards will be announced April 22, 2006, in New York, just prior to the start of the annual NAB Conference.
Sharing the nomination with “Live for Today” co-writers Phil Vassar and Julie Vassar, Wachtler worked closely on the song with NBC’s senior vice president of marketing, east coast, Frank Radice, who served as executive producer. “Live for Today” was chosen in 2005 from more than 100 submissions as the new theme for the show. The song was recorded by Phil Vassar in the 615 Music studios on April 4, 2005, and was unveiled in a live performance May 2 by the Arista recording artist on the plaza outside The Today Show.
615 has additionally written, produced and delivered a number of new musical themes for the hit ABC morning program Live with Regis & Kelly, including tunes with themes entitled “entertainment,” “heartwarming,” and “wacky.”
The company has unveiled a new corporate logo. Wachtler said, “We felt the need to update our existing company logo, to better reflect a more ‘contemporary’ direction in which our company is now moving. Our customers tell us that the music we are composing today is some of the most interesting, fresh sounding music available. We wanted our new logo to convey that same feeling.”
615 Music has also launched a new website designed to be more efficient and streamlined for 615 clients, offering them an updated, cleaner, and more contemporary look and feel. It no longer divides 615’s custom music and library music services.
