New York (November 16, 2006)–ACO Pacific recently introduced several new phantom powered products designed for recording, studio and measurement work. At the core of this new product line is the 4048 Phantom 1/2 inch powered measurement microphone preamp and the ICP1248 Phantom to ICP power converter.
The ICP1248 Phantom Power to ICP converterBoth models feature stainless steel housings. The 4048 ACOtron measurement microphone preamp provides 4 Hz to over 100 kHz response, a dynamic range of 2 uV “A” weighted to 5 Vrms, while operating over a phantom voltage range of 18 to over 60 Vdc- (12 Vdc with reduced performance). The 1/2 inch microphone mount complies with current IEC standards.
Two microphone system packages are offered with the 4048. The 7052PH package includes the 7052 Type 1.5 free field capsule. The 22 mV/Pa sensitivity, and 3 Hz to over 22 kHz response extend well over a range of 20 dBA to over 150 dBSPL (~140 dBSPL on the 4048). For lower noise the MK224PH features a 12-14 dBA noise floor and 50 mV/Pa sensitivity. Both packages include a 3 inch WS1 windscreen.
The ICP1248 Phantom Power to ICP converter rounds out the new offering. The ICP1248 is said to expand measurement and recording horizon by allowing ICP, IEPE, ACOtron and other industrial sensors to be connected to and powered from the phantom power found in analog and digital recorders, studio systems, and many pieces of measurement equipment. Sensors available cover a wide range of physical measurements. Primary among these are accelerometers for vibration and mic preamps like the ACOtron 4212 ICP preamp. Sensors connect to the ICP1248 using standard BNC coaxial cables. The constant current in the ICP1248 is set to a nominal 3-4 mA. Custom current settings are available.
