The Beijing Traffic Management Bureau stands at attention beneath an Adamson Spektrix PA during The Award and Variety Show for Traffic Safety for the Chinese Olympic New Year.Bejing (February 11, 2008)--This summer will see the 2008 Summer Olympics being held in Bejing, and in preparation, China has been cleaning up and modernizing its transit system to handle the influx. Part of that effort has been to raise awareness of traffic safety and in an unusual effort to do that, the country recently held a large-scale TV event: The Award and Variety Show for Traffic Safety for the Chinese Olympic New Year--which made use of an Adamson Spektrix PA.
The Awards were presented to those who made a valuable contribution to traffic management in the previous year. The function was organized by the Beijing Traffic Management Bureau and the China Central Television (CCTV) at the Beijing Worker's Stadium, which is also scheduled to host the football quarter-finals and semi-finals during the up-coming Summer Olympics. The venue was at capacity with a crowd of 6,000 which included the management team of the Beijing government, and the Ministry of Public Security.
Many Chinese pop stars, most notably "Twins" and "Sun Nan", who holds an impressive resume of being the first Chinese pop singer to tour overseas, as well as the artist who will perform the 2008 Olympic Theme Song "Forever friends", and as Mr. Wang Yifu, the head coach of China's National Shooting Team, participated in the event.
New Adamson partner Hunan Tian Yin Art Performance Company provided the Adamson system for the show. The company's head engineer, Mi Ning, was the FOH engineer for the event. The main flown system comprised of eight Y18s per side, with two ground stacks consisting of six Spektrix and two Spektrix subs on each side of the stage were used as sidefills for the lateral seating areas. All Adamson speakers were powered with eight Lab.gruppen fP10000qs, two Lab.gruppen fP3400s and six Lab.gruppen fp6400 amps. Processing was handled by Dolby Lake controllers.
