Nashville, TN (March 19, 2008)–The AES Nashville Section has developed a two-day conference and equipment expo focused on capturing creativity in personal production spaces.
With virtually all the fundamental elements of traditional recording, mixing and mastering studios now available with the click of a mouse, the production and post production process has been thoroughly democratized, and C2 Con gives the broadened recording community access to the experience and knowledge of the AES.
Scheduled for April 18-19 at the Musician’s Hall of Fame and Museum, C2Con aims to provide real-world insights into technology and techniques which can help attendees achieve professional results even on shoestring budgets.
“Whether you are a musician recording a performance, a songwriter laying down demos, or a professional engineer creating your own production space, C2 Con will provide insights and essential information geared to boost your career,” said Nashville Section Chair Michael Modesto. “In addition to exhibits and product demos from leading manufacturers, workshops, and roundtable discussions, C2 Con will provide attendees with an outstanding networking opportunity. Essentially, we’re introducing a mini-AES Convention.”
C2 Con participants will include leading producer/engineers Jeff Balding, Chuck Ainlay, Russ Long, Pat McMakin and Bil VornDick, and Lynn Fuston of 3D Audio. Subjects planned for the two-day event include personal production spaces, capturing voice and acoustic instruments, small room acoustics, building rhythms with beats and loops, dissection of a great mix, creating a head-turning demo, advice from the pros and peer advice including a singer-songwriter roundtable.
“Early Bird registration for AES members is $149 and $199 for non-members. Registration for student members is $39; for non-member students registration is $59. Early registration is open through Apr 4.
