New York, NY (February 4, 2008)--On the heels of its 1st Annual Regional Student Summit last March with hundreds of students, educators and audio professionals from eight states converging on Webster University in St. Louis, MO, the AES has slated a new event for this this year. The 2nd Annual Summit will take place Friday, April 4 to Sunday, April 6, once again at Webster University in St. Louis.

Pre-registration for $20 is now open. More info can be found at www.webster.edu/aes. Students can follow the "Registration" tab to get info on registration and cheap housing; and the "Summit Schedule" tab for the listing of proposed tutorials, panels and demos, along with presenters.

Sponsors like SSL, Shure and Yamaha are already lined up, plus events such as "Internships and Entry Level Positions," "The Future of Analog," "Aesthetics," and "Women in Audio," to name a few. There is also a recording competition.

According to AES, the Summit is a great opportunity for students from the Central Region, some of which cannot attend the conventions in New York or California, to mingle with their peers from other educational institutions as well as professionals. It gives them the same opportunity to put their hands on gear, just like on the exhibition floor at the Javits or the Moscone Center.
