AKG’s new D 4 stage microphone.Anaheim, CA (January 22, 2008)–At the recently-concluded 2008 Winter NAMM Show, AKG announced the new D 4 stage microphone. Manufactured for use on drums, percussion instruments, wind instruments and guitar amps, the new D 4 dynamic microphone’s all-metal body is reportedly built to withstand the rigors of active, onstage live performance.
Featuring AKG’s patented Varimotion diaphragm technology, the D 4 is said to be capable of being fine-tuned with no extra tuning resonators. Additionally, the D 4 comes with an integrated stand adapter as well as a mounting bracket, making the unit adaptable for many instruments.
“Offering the latest advancements in microphone diaphragm technology, combined with a sturdy physical design, the D 4 stage microphone was designed with the live musician in mind,” explained Thomas Umbauer, Product Manager, AKG Acoustics. “The capsule is positioned right under the wire-mesh grill for the ultimate sound pressure levels and the rugged all-metal body provides the necessary durability required of on stage equipment.”
