Las Vegas, NV (April 28, 2006)–At NAB this week, AKG Acoustics announced its new HSC and HSD series professional headsets, based on AKG’s premium headphone and microphone technology. According to AKG, these application-optimized headsets meet the demanding requirements of a broadcast environment, delivering exceptional audio quality, ease of use and noise-free communication.
HSC models combine a shock-mounted cardioid condenser microphone with the TEC Award-winning K 271 Studio circum-aural or the K 171 Studio supra-aural headphones. HSD models include a shock-mounted hypercardioid dynamic microphone paired with the same award-winning K 271 Studio and K 171 Studio headphones.
The HSC 271 combines comfortable closed-back around-the-ear K 271 Studio headphones and a shock-mounted condenser microphone with detailed studio-quality sound. The HSD 271 has a dynamic microphone with a hypercardioid pickup pattern for use in high-noise environments that maintains excellent intelligibility. As its name implies, the HSD 271 Single has a single earpiece, allowing the user to hear natural environmental sounds while wearing the headset.
Designed for professional broadcast, intercom, recording, post-production and other professional applications, the HSC and HSD headsets feature microphone boom arms that swivel 270 degrees for left or right-hand use without modification. HSC 271 and HSD 271 models have an auto-mute function that silences the headphones automatically when the headset is taken off.
