AKG USA Makes Move To CA

Nashville, TN (August 11, 2006)--AKG Acoustics has announced the integration of its U.S. distribution arm, AKG Acoustics USA, into the Harman Pro North America (HPNA) distributorship. According to the company, the move will allow AKG to take advantage of the logistics and customer service capabilities of HPNA's Northridge, California facilities and will further support AKG product sales, distribution and customer care.

Nashville, TN (August 11, 2006)--AKG Acoustics has announced the integration of its U.S. distribution arm, AKG Acoustics USA, into the Harman Pro North America (HPNA) distributorship. According to the company, the move will allow AKG to take advantage of the logistics and customer service capabilities of HPNA's Northridge, California facilities and will further support AKG product sales, distribution and customer care.

AKG Acoustics' Nashville Tennessee operation will close effective August 30, 2006. AKG sales and product management in the U.S. market will be unaffected and will continue to be led by Paul Jenkins, National Sales Manager, who spoke with Pro Sound News exclusively.

"Nashville has been great for AKG Acoustics. We are very grateful to the city, the music community there and the various dedicated individuals who have worked for AKG Acoustics over the years," Jenkins explained. "With the establishment of Harman Pro North America in Northridge, we have been provided with a tremendous opportunity to serve our customers and channel partners throughout the country with a highly advanced sales, distribution and support infrastructure that leverages the strengths of other Northridge-based Harman brands including JBL Professional, Studer and Soundcraft."

HPNA's AKG Acoustics business, under the stewardship of vice president & general manager Kim Templeman-Holmes will report directly to AKG Acoustics Gmbh President, Stefan Gubi, who is based in Vienna.
