Mumbai, India (July 30, 2004)–Yash Raj Films have confirmed the largest order for audio equipment ever placed by an Indian film company. AMS Neve is proud to accept the order for an 88R, a DFC and two Libra Post consoles, three AudioFile SC editors, offline Encore and a StarNet network.
Founded in 1971, Yash Raj Films is the brainchild of Yash Chopra whose directorial career spans 40 years at the top of the vibrant Indian film industry. Romance, drama, adult emotions and stunning music have been his hallmark as trends have come and gone in Bollywood.
The Music Studio at Yash Raj will be equipped with a 60-fader frame Neve 88R. Recording mediums will be analogue 2-inch tape and digital workstations. The Foley Room will be equipped with a 12-fader Libra Post console and an integrated 32-track AudioFile SC editor. A second Libra Post will be used for ADR, also with an AudioFile SC editor. The main room is the Film Theatre. This will feature a 40-fader DFC2 and an integrated AudioFile recorder/editor.
All four of the consoles will use AMS Neve’s Encore automation. This provides total compatibility as the Libra Post systems in the Foley and ADR rooms and the 88R in the Music Studio feed material into the DFC in the Film Theatre.
All four consoles will also be networked together via AMS Neve’s StarNet. Offline Encore will run on a PC to enable management of mixes and set ups, increasing the efficiency of studio use. StarNet will also link the AudioFiles together enabling instant transfer of projects, sharing of FX libraries, efficient management of media and centralized back-up and restore.
