Sydney, Australia (July 31, 2006)–Fairlight has announced that the Postoffice in Amsterdam recently installed a DREAM Constellation-XT as the primary technology in its new digital audio post department.
Founded in 1986 and owned by Ad Rietvelt, Postoffice is the leading post production facility in Amsterdam with notable work in film and video post for commercials, documentaries and motion pictures. Among its previous capabilities was special efx, 3D, Telecine and both online and offline editing. Having grown to a staff of 25, it is a central focus for the advertising industry in the Netherlands.
“To remain at the forefront of the industry and maintain our full service profile, we knew a complete audio post facility was the next step,” said Rietvelt. “And to maintain our reputation, we needed to continue to provide superior work while meeting difficult deadlines. The Fairlight Constellation-XT is the most powerful and versatile digital audio system which allows us to meet those deadlines and maintain our high standards.”
The facility’s Constellation is located within the building that houses the existing music suite and will add the capability of providing voice-overs, sound effects, sound design and final mixdown. All computers and workstations are networked together through robust servers that allow clients to go from video edit, for example, to the audio room and all the files are already imported. This improves the workflow for Postoffice clients whether it’s for work on TV projects, film or advertising.
Stuart DeMarais, Fairlight’s sales and marketing director, stated, “The Constellation-XT engine, the speed and robustness of the system in addition to the networking capability, were designed with just this kind of work in mind. It’s very exciting to see the speed and ease of use we designed into this system support one of the most prestigious facilities in all of Europe.”
