New York, NY (March 15, 2004)–Ant Music, one of New York’s newest and fastest growing music composition and sound design houses, has announced that it has been awarded a series of three inter-linking spots for the new national MasterCard television campaign, which debuted during the recent Academy Awards telecast.
Composed by Ant Music composer Victor Reyes, overseen by Ant Music New York music director Anthony Vanger, Ant Music executive producer Chuck Kinsinger and McCann Erickson’s executive music producer Mike Boris, the music was recorded over the weekend exactly seven days before its debut at Prague’s premier classical music venue, the Dvorak Hall at The Rudolphinum, utilizing the talents of the resident 60-piece Czech Philharmonic Orchestra.
Ant Music musical director Anthony Vanger explained, “The client wanted a large orchestral sound to give the project a definite cinematic quality. But first and foremost they needed a piece of music that they could fall in love with. That’s where Victor came in. After that, it was all about making the theme work on all three spots. It was a very challenging project but it came out great and it is always a treat to hear music played by a sixty piece orchestra instead of the latest samples!”
McCann-Erickson executive music producer Mike Boris added, “The spots are a trilogy that tells the story of a dog named Badger, who gets lost and finds his way home. We knew we needed a ‘Badgers Theme,’ a strong, beautiful melody that would evoke sympathy and still leave you with hope. It was a challenge to a composer not to score the spots tightly but to let the theme support the story as opposed to telling it. Ant Music hit a home run! The arrangements came alive with the orchestra.”
