Santa Monica, CA (December 6, 2007)--Ascent Media and New York music production company Rave Music have formed a strategic alliance to provide original music production for commercials, via Ascent Media's Creative Sound Services group. The new company, R West, will include composers Daniel Cage and Todd Haberman and will also tap talent from Rave Music's East Coast facility, including the company's founder, Grammy-nominated composer John Loeffler.
The agreement enables Ascent Media to offer additional creative services to its advertising agency clients, while allowing Rave Music to extend its reach to the West Coast. "It is a marriage of complimentary strengths," said Robert C. Rosenthal, COO of Ascent Media's Creative Sound Services group. "It unites Rave Music's creative talent with our client base, sales expertise and reputation." The two companies ultimately plan to extend their relationship to also include original music production for film and television.
Loeffler said that he is excited to gain better access to the West Coast advertising market. "It is a great opportunity for us," he said. "Especially as it allows us to take advantage of the contacts available through the extended Ascent Media family."
Rave Music has been producing music for commercials, television, film and other media for more than 20 years. It is perhaps best known for creating the theme music and score for the popular animated television series Pokemon, as well as the numerous CDs, films and videos associated with the show. The company recently produced the soundtrack for Dale, a documentary on racing legend Dale Earnhardt for Country Music Television, and the HBO documentary, Montana Meth. Recent commercial credits include spots for Avon and Mitsubishi. Prior to launching Rave Music, Loeffler served as a music director for Grey Advertising, New York.
