New York (August 30, 2005)--Sauk Prairie High in central Wisconsin recently updated its football field’s audio system with a selection of Atlas Sound AH5040CD stadium horns.

"The client was asking for a system that wasn’t strictly voice--something that could be musical and has great clarity," said Terry Yunk, system designer at Pridham Electronics, the installer on the project. "Since the installation, we’ve heard nothing but great reviews. The athletes were all able to hear when their events were called during the sectional track meet and an a cappella trio raised the house when they sang the national anthem. The system is just awesome. "

The installation on the football field consists of six stadium horn; four are custom mounted on poles around the field and two are mounted on the press box. Each set of speakers is individually controlled depending on the type of coverage required. If it’s a football game, the speakers on the press box are turned off so not to distract the players on the field. However, those speakers can be turned back on during the halftime show when the cheerleaders performing on the field need to hear their music.

"We’ve installed these horns at other venues in the past and they’re always impressive to anyone who hears them," Yunk continued. "The football stadium at Sauk Prairie has kind of become a showplace for us. We’ve already had several schools in the district inquire about these horns because they were so impressed with the sound."
