York, PA (February 10, 2011)–RAK Recording Studios in London has used ATR Analog Mastering tape for several recent projects.
Legendary record producer Mickie Most (The Animals, Jeff Beck, Donovan) created RAK Recording Studio in 1976, converting a Victorian schoolhouse and church hall into a recording studio complex with full residential facilities. Over the years, RAK has played host to both musical legends and newcomers alike. Recent clients include Beady Eye, Michael Kiwanaku, Westlife, Dido, Shakira, Cee-Lo, The Feeling and Mumford & Sons to name a few.
On a recent project, the studios’ analog multitrack machines were utilized with 16-track headblocks running at 15 ips (non-Dolby) to capture live performances on ATR 2-inch tape. Edits were done with a razor blade. This project also mixed to analog 1/4-inch.
ATR tape is distributed in the UK by Stanley Productions.
