New York, NY (February 21, 2008)–Commercial sound mixer Carl Mandelbaum recently created 5.1-channel mixes for three :30 spots for Gatorade, all at his newly 5.1-equipped studio at NYC audio post-production company, audioEngine. One of the spots, “Jeter Footsteps,” featuring Derek Jeter for Gatorade’s new low-calorie G2 line, aired during the Super Bowl.
Mandelbaum’s studio features Genelec 1037 stereo and 8040A surround monitoring. A wrap-around production desk welcomes clients into the mixer’s critical listening environment, though the large studio also provides ample client workspace apart from Mandelbaum’s mixing station and VO booth.
Mandelbaum mixed the Gatorade 5.1 spots for producer Tom Cronin and the Element 79 Partners agency in Chicago, working with editor Alex Hagon of Final Cut in New York. Mandelbaum has also recently mixed spots for Mastercard, Revlon, Twix, Footlocker and Mercedes.
audioEngine houses four fully equipped mixing and sound design studios for the mixers on staff, including Mandelbaum, Rex Recker, Tom Goldblatt, Joe Vagnoni and Hillary Kew. Mandelbaum’s 5.1 surround set-up joins Recker’s Dolby-approved 5.1 cinema-style mixing studio in providing the tools and environment needed to mix commercials for high-definition broadcast.
