Atlanta (July 14, 2005)–Brendan O’Brien mixed tracks for Audioslave’s Out of Exile, for Epic/Interscope, at Southern Tracks Recording in Atlanta. O’Brien also mixed the quartet’s Live in Cuba performance for an MTV television production. Southern Tracks’ surround sound maestro Nick DiDia executed the Out of Exile 5.1 mix. DiDia also did the 5.1 mix for The Offspring’s “Greatest Hits” for Sony.
Grammy winners Third Day returned to Southern Tracks to produce and record songs for their forthcoming album. Karl Egsieker engineered the sessions with Tom Tapley assisting.
Jeff Calder, Karl Egsieker and Tom Tapley reassembled and restored the master tapes of Gyrate, the seminal 1980 DB Recs debut by the Athens, GA quartet, Pylon. The group’s first single, “Cool” b/w “Dub” will be among the bonus cuts.
