Old Lyme, CT (May 1, 2007)--Australian Monitor has introduced the latest addition to its installation series of rackmountable mixers--the MX61 and MX81. The new mixers boast six (MX61) or eight (MX81) channels of preamplification in a single rack space with the ability to switch between XLR line-level, XLR mic-level (with or without phantom power), or dual RCA inputs. Like all Australian Monitor products, the MX61 and MX81 is distributed in North and South America by Sennheiser Electronic Corporation.

The MX61 and MX81 both feature a recessed trim control (+/-15 dB), a dual color signal present indication LED, and 100 Hz and 10 kHz shelving EQs on each channel. Users can configure input one as pre- or post-master so that it can serve as an override or emergency-paging channel. A single line-level XLR provides master-volume controlled output, while dual mono RCA jacks provide a record output that is unaffected by the EQs or the master volume. A headphone output is internally switchable to be pre- or post-master.

David McNutt, team leader, installed sound, Sennheiser, summarized, "The MX Series mixers are uniquely tailored to meet the needs of installers, elegantly adapting to particular input sources in any scenario, at a price that can't be ignored. Our commitment to the needs of installers is evidenced from the big things, like our mixers' remarkably low 90 dB signal-to-noise ratio, to the small things, like their handy 'fiddle-protection' faceplate that provides space to label each input."

Both the MX61 and MX81 operate on 110 VAC or on 24 VDC via an external power source. Optional remote VCA, tone generator or muting boards are available.
