New York, NY (November 18, 2003)–Avatar Studios recently appointed Roy Hendrickson as its chief engineer. Already a resident at Avatar, with his own mixing room, Studio R, located on the fourth floor, Hendrickson now heads up Avatar’s maintenance department. He recently mixed Cheap Trick’s upcoming DVD, featuring live concert footage in surround, on his Yamaha DM2000 console.
Other recent sessions at Avatar include producer David Bottrill and engineer Brian Sperber working on new material for Universal Records’ artists FLAW. Also, Sheryl Crow was recently at Avatar, recording for the “Carter Family Tribute” to Johnny Cash, with Hendrickson engineering and mixing, and assistance from Anthony Ruotolo. Producer/arranger Barry Eastmond recorded strings for an upcoming Whitney Houston Album, with engineer Phil Magnotti, and Clay Aiken performed live in Studio A for a recent taping of “Sessions at AOL,” engineered by Ruotolo.
