Santa Monica, CA (December 6, 2005)–Ascent Media Group (AMG) announced that audio post production veterans Lon Bender and Wylie Stateman have agreed to extend their stay with the company and broaden their creative roles.
Bender, an Academy Award winner, currently serves as president of the company’s creative sound services group, while also working as a supervising sound editor on a number of motion picture projects under AMG’s Soundelux banner. Bender expressed a desire to focus more time and energy with his clients on creative endeavors. As a result, AMG created the position of chief creative officer for Bender, which he will assume at the beginning of next year.
“I am very happy with the direction the company has taken and proud of all that we have accomplished over the last five years. However, my professional passion lies in contributing creatively to the filmmaking process. I care deeply for the art of sound and working as a team with my friends and co-workers here at AMG. Being afforded the ability to renew my focus on designing soundtracks–and doing it within the community that is AMG, whether in Los Angeles, New York or London, thrills me to no end,” said Bender.
Wylie Stateman will continue in his current capacities as executive vice president of the creative sound services group and as a supervising sound editor, continuing to build AMG’s relationships within the creative community.
“Ascent Media represents creative talent in a most unique way, providing the entertainment community with a family of boutique service groups that are capable of delivering creative excellence in global entertainment,” said Stateman. “I’m delighted to be able to continue our mission to further this effort and provide an unparalleled palette of innovative creative support to the post-production community.”
AMG also announced that Robert C. Rosenthal would be assuming the post of chief operating officer for its award-winning sound companies, including Soundelux, Todd-AO, Modern Music and Sound One.
