Mol, Belgium (April 25, 2007)--New Jersey-based Belikewater Productions will be the official U.S. representative for Galaxy Studios, Belgium. The announcement was made by Ralph Broos, manager of the residential studio complex located in the heart of Europe.
During his visit to the facility, Belikewater's Peter Cho said he witnessed first-hand the commitment of its owners and staff, noting, "Galaxy was conceived and built to serve music, technology and the recording artist. I highly recommend a trip out to Belgium. Galaxy Studios is something else. The Van Baelen brothers, Guy and Wilfried, are the model studio owners, as their passionate goal is to record great music and advance the recording arts. You must respect their vision of building the recording hall and mix rooms on giant industrial springs. They did everything the way it should be done."
Galaxy Hall, the studio's jewel, is an insulated bunker built on top of industrial springs, ensuring silence and total acoustic isolation. It also features an inaudible air-conditioning system; reportedly the most silent system ever created. Few studios can boast about that, and the hall is highly regarded and utilized by audiophile labels, orchestras, pop and rock bands, and film scoring sessions.
"And what a staff of world-class engineers," said Cho. "Ronald Prent and Darcy Proper are in residence, along with a family of professionals from outstanding assistants to resident chef, Dave Van Camp. It is such a client-friendly studio, a very relaxed and comfortable setting."
"This trans-Atlantic partnership feels right," Cho continued. "I have tremendous respect for Darcy Proper, and after having been Darcy's manager at Sony Music Studios, I consider it a pleasure and my good fortune to continue our long-standing relationship, in yet another setting. As the U.S. contact, I can schedule and facilitate sessions, and work with Ralph Broos and Rob Sannen (facility manager) to provide a great recording/mastering experience for the client."
