Farmingdale, NY (January 14, 2010)–Blue Sky has introduced two new monitor products, the two-way, bi-amped SAT 6.5 EXR and the compact EXO2 near-field system.
The SAT 6.5 EXR features two 100 W amplifers, a single 6.5 in. high-excursion hemispherical woofer, and a 1 in. dual concentric diaphragm tweeter with integral wave guide for superior off-axis response. It may be used with or without a subwoofer.
The rear panel incorporates two completely independent balanced input stages with XLR connectors. The main input is for standard 80 Hz bass-managed operation, and makes the SAT 6.5 EXR fully compatible with Blue Sky’s SUB 12, SUB 212 and SUB 15 Universal. When the 80 Hz input is used this ported monitor has all the characteristics of a sealed box. The second “Extended Range” input is intended for applications where a sub is impractical, or as a second confidence input.
EXO2’s revamped subwoofer features a small footprint (10 in. H x 9 in. W x 11 in. D), allowing it to easily integrate into a compact workspace with reportedly virtually the same sonic performance of the original EXO system 14 in. sub. The EXO2 includes two 3-in. two-way satellites, with a 1-in. soft-dome tweeter with a separate 8 in. subwoofer for extended low frequency response.
