Minneapolis, MN (December 17, 2003)–Victory Sports network recently launched with an exciting music identity created by music, sound design and audio post company Brahmstedt White Noise (BWN). BWN added a new studio featuring Digidesign Pro Tools HD to facilitate this enormous project, which is being led by composer Ken Brahmstedt, sound designer/mixer Carl White, and newly added composer/sound designer Chris Heidman.
Victory Sports is dedicated to delivering comprehensive Upper Midwest sports including Minnesota Twins Baseball, University of Minnesota Men’s Basketball, University of Minnesota Football, Big Ten Conference Basketball & Football, Minnesota State-Mankato Hockey & Football, other collegiate and high school sports programming, and other local shows as well as ESPNEWS. To help drive a complete branding package, including network IDs, bumpers and opens, BWN created the network theme and all live in-game music for sports broadcasts.
“The Victory Sports process allowed for a refreshingly spontaneous feel to a lot of the work because of the time constraints we were under,” noted Chris Heidman. “I think the music and sound effects used on the channel has a really cool, unpretentious feel about it.”
Prior to joining BWN, Heidman was in a band called Sukpatch that merged indie rock and hip hop and was signed to the Beastie Boy’s Grand Royal label. The band recorded four albums over a span of seven years, and had music placements in several major motion pictures and television shows including The Glass House, Roswell, a slew of Japanese NBA broadcasts, and a handful of HBO and Showtime films.
“I am proud of the work we have done on the project,” added Ken Brahmstedt. “Utilizing sound and music to brand an entire network is an exciting next step in the development of BWN.”
