Bonita Springs, FL (April 18, 2007)--The city of Bonita Springs recently celebrated its seventh birthday with its annual "Celebrate Bonita" free festival, this year featuring headline acts the Charlie Daniels Band and Emerson Drive. Charlie Daniels sent the devil running out of Bonita Springs, FL, too, recently with the help of a Dynacord Cobra PA.Tech-Tronics of Fort Myers, FL, deployed a Dynacord Cobra system for the event, using a ground-stacked horizontal sub arc of 16 Cobra PWH boxes, along with five Cobra Top boxes per side. Cobra drive racks with two Dynacord L2400 amps per side and DSP 244 controllers handled power and processing.
"We do a ton of work with the Cobra," said Ted Roepke of Tech-Tronics, "and we got great line array performance and full, even coverage from ground-stacking these boxes for this event. We definitely weren't short on low-end with all those subs! This was the most people the city had ever had in Riverside Park--they closed off a couple of streets to handle the overflow--and everyone heard the show loud and clear."
For the FOH position, Tech-Tronics supplied a Midas XL3 console and an all-Klark Teknik compliment of EQs, gates and comps, including a wireless KT Helix EQ system for monitors.
"We've been doing this show for a number of years now, and we always use the Cobra system, but this was the most boxes we've deployed so far," Roepke added. "Though four Cobra tops and four subs a side can handle this space, this year they had a bigger budget and booked a bigger act, so we scaled up the rig accordingly."
