Oregon City, OR/San Francisco, CA (September 25, 2006)--Producer/engineer Joe Chiccarelli is co-producing and engineering the new Sub Pop album by The Shins. This new album is the follow-up to the band's acclaimed 2003 album, Chutes Too Narrow, and thus, is eagerly anticipated.

Pictured during mixing sessions at Supernatural Sound, at the API Legacy Plus console, are (l-r): Shins keyboardist Marty Crandall, Chicarelli, engineer Sean Flora and Shins singer/songwriter/guitar player James Mercer.Chiccarelli has been working with the Shins at Supernatural Sound in Portland, OR--where the band is based--as well as at SF Soundworks in San Francisco. The album, tentatively titled, Wincing the Night Away, is slated for a January, 2007 release on Sub Pop.
