Grand Rapids, MN (January 7, 2008)--Zion Lutheran Church's Christian Life Center in Grand Rapids, MN recently underwent a retrofit that included the installation of a number of JBL Professional Control 300 Series large-format in-ceiling loudspeakers.

The Christian Life Center is a 100 x 60-foot open space, which doubles as a gymnasium and fellowship hall, hosting a range of church-related activities and events. Dallas Anderson of Tricorne Audio performed an acoustical analysis of the Christian Life Center and hung approximately 40 baffles for acoustical treatment. Using an EASE model to determine the best configuration of the loudspeakers, Anderson chose a distributed system with four rows, each with three JBL Control 321 in-ceiling loudspeakers.

"The Control 321's were perfect for this project--we got plenty of low end out of them and they're ready to go right out of the box," Anderson said. "The coverage was very smooth, which has been a problem in the past with other coax speakers. The Control 321's did exactly what the EASE models showed they would do."
