The main stage at Coachella and
Stagecoach featured Rat Sound's
new L-Acoustics K1 system.
Indio, CA (May 8, 2009)--Rat Sound fielded a massive L-Acoustics K1 system for the back to back Coachella Music and Arts and Stagecoach Country Music Festivals.
Over 200,000 fans attended the multi-stage events, which included a legendary two and a half hours with Paul McCartney, and captivating sets by Leonard Cohen, Brad Paisley, Kid Rock and more than 150 other artists.
The new K1 is a large-scale stadium sound system from L-Acoustics that can hang 24 boxes deep. Compared to previous L-Acoustics systems, it reportedly provides increased control over the low frequencies in the line array and improvements in clarity and coverage.
Rat Sound Systems Inc was the sound reinforcement vendor for the festivals, which occurred on consecutive weekends; the company provided systems for four additional stages at the rock music-based Coachella and two more stages at the country and western-themed Stagecoach. Other stages featured V-Dosc, Kudo and Rat Trap sound systems. Additionally, Rat Sound supplied over 50 EAW MicroWedges, which were featured on all but one of the stages.
"I cannot begin to say how excited I am about the response to our new PA," said Dave Rat, president of Rat Sound. "We knew the K1 system was great, but this level of enthusiasm from all angles was unexpected. It's clean, it's clear and it's loud and the coverage is phenomenal. There is just nothing else out there that can do what this system can do."
