Santa Monica, CA (March 30, 2006)–Finger Music has signed composer/sound designer Richard Devine for exclusive spot representation. The company has offices in the US and UK.
Prior to joining Finger, Devine collaborated with the company on “Unleashed” for Dodge Charger, via GlobalHue/MI. He created sound design for the hugely successful spot, which featured a music track composed by Finger creative director/partner Dave Hodge with original lyrics by rapper Kool Keith.
“Richard is a sound designer’s sound designer–literally,” said Hodge of Devine, whose work has been featured on new software and hardware titles from many major innovative audio companies such as Native Instruments, Korg, Clavia, Nord, Alesis, Apple Computers, Universal Audio, and M-Audio Division. “He’s a composer as well, and often delivers a complete aural experience for the client.”
At the cutting edge of sound design and musical composition, Devine has brought his bleeding edge high-tech style to projects for Nike, Scion, Land Rover, HBO, Spike TV, XBOX, and Ford. Currently, he is at work on Infected: Dawn of the Dead for Sony PlayStation’s PS3.
Devine has remixed top Warp artists like Aphex Twin and Mike Patton (Faith No More). He has released four full-length albums on Schematic, Warp, Asphodel and Sublight Records and has performed his own ear-tearing music mayhem worldwide. Devine has done film and website score work for Touchstone Pictures (with John Hues & Kyle Cooper), Wieden & Kennedy, AKQA Inc., and others. He recently completed work on Surveillance, the new film from director Adam Rifkin (Detroit Rock City, Where’s Waldo).
Devine is working on the new 5.1 DVD surround sound album for Ghostly International, due this fall. He will be giving a series of lectures at Berklee College of Music, and will also be touring with Flashbulb and Cylob.
