Redmond, WA (May 4, 2006)–The International Audio Group (IAG) has appointed Costa Lakoumentas to the newly established role of president, IAG Professional Division. Additionally, the company has opened its new sales and administration offices in Redmond, Washington.
Most recently from Tannoy North America where he served as VP of market development, Lakoumentas was also involved in product and technology planning activities for Tannoy UK as well as Tannoy’s parent, TC Group. Prior to that, he spent several years at Mackie in product and market development roles, including VP of business development.
In his new role, Lakoumentas will oversee worldwide product development, marketing and sales activities related to the professional division. IAG owns several pro audio brands, including Wharfedale Pro, Wharfedale Systems, Quad Industrial and most recently Mission Pro. Between the current brands, the company produces speakers and electronics aimed at the recording, sound reinforcement and installed sound markets.
“What attracted me to IAG is their sheer will to make things happen,” commented Lakoumentas. “With nearly one million square feet of vertically integrated manufacturing in China, we can turn on a dime; producing everything from wood boxes, injection molded plastic, alloy castings, SMT electronics and even transducers right in our own facility. That affords us total control over the manufacturing process and ensures we can get to market in the shortest possible time while delivering the highest possible quality.”
Lakoumentas is expected to preside over several new product announcements over the coming months, starting with a new line of products aimed at the recording market.
