San Francisco, CA (May 13, 2004)–Crescendo! Studios audio mixer Craig Helmholz was recently presented with the Judges’ Special Merit Award in the Association of Music Producers’ (AMP) 2004 National Mixer of the Year competition. The national award for outstanding excellence in TV commercial mixing was given to Helmholz at the second annual awards presentation in late April at the Village Recorders in West Los Angeles.
“It is an honor to be recognized by my peers in the industry, and I am excited to see what the future holds,” said Helmholz as he accepted his award.
Entrants from mix houses all around the country were judged for excellence in commercial mixing based on a body of work submitted. One of Helmholz’s spots, Maxwell House “Keeps In, ” a :15 TV spot for client Ogilvy & Mather/New York, was previewed at the event. The other two spots in his entry were Adidas “Lessons” (:30 TV spot) for TBWA/Chiat Day/San Francisco and Kool Aid “Storm” (:30 TV spot) for Ogilvy & Mather/New York.
Helmholz attended the awards presentation with his wife, Andrea Bustabade Helmholz, agency producer for TBWA/Chiat Day/SF, and Crescendo! Studios owner Laurence Hyman.
