Nashville's High Point Manor is a studio that has recently hired Carl Tatz Design to design its new studio and implement the PhantomFocus Monitor System. Nashville, TN (July 12, 2007)--The Carl Tatz Design (CTD) PhantomFocus Monitor System has been implemented by several of Nashville commercial facilities and personal home studios, reportedly in an effort to correct boundary and room mode effects and provide accurate reference monitoring. Studios using the system include The Grip, Platinum Lab, High Point Manor and Yes Master Studios.
The Grip, an advanced home recording studio owned by Rascal Flatts bass player and producer of Chicago XXX, Jay DeMarcus, sports two PhantomFocus Monitor Systems as the centerpieces of both the control room and editing suite. Commenting on his monitoring environment Jay DeMarcus stated, "The PhantomFocus Monitor System is incredibly transparent. When you sit in the sweet spot, you can almost reach out and touch the individual tracks. Carl Tatz has perfected the art of designing a professional, accurate listening environment. That's why I've asked him to design and build another new room."
Nashville's High Point Manor is another example of a studio that has recently hired Carl Tatz Design to design its new studio and implement the PhantomFocus Monitor System--in this case, a dual system using Dynaudio M3P 3 way main-monitors and Dynaudio BM6A 2-way Active near-field monitors sharing the dual Dynaudio BM12S subwoofer system.
Platinum Lab, with a range of clients that include Randy Jackson, Tommy Sims, Rascal Flatts and India.Arie, is home to artists from all genres of music. Studio owners Michael and Laura Morena turned to Carl Tatz Design and the PhantomFocus Monitor System. Commenting on their new monitoring system, Michael Morena stated, "After installing our PhantomFocus Mid-Field Monitor System, Platinum Lab has graduated from being primarily a tracking room to a sought after mix room as well. Now our clients "stick around" and they all say the same thing, ‘We've never heard anything like this before.’ Thank you, Carl!"
That sentiment is echoed by leading mastering engineer Jim Demain of Yes Master Studios, one of Nashville's foremost mastering houses, whose clients include Jimmy Buffett, Marty Stuart and Steve Earle. Jim Demain stated, "Once we engaged Carl Tatz Design to design our new mastering suite and PhantomFocus Monitor System, we felt very confident that the results would be superb, and boy, are they ever."
