Southampton, UK (May 30, 2006)–Audio and video manufacturer DK-Technologies (UK) has been appointed sole distributor for the UK and Ireland by German manufacturer, Alpermann+Velte Electronic Engineering.
Alpermann+Velte was established in 1972 as an engineering office for electronics for industrial applications. In 1976 it began developing and producing timecode products and systems under the guidance of two of its founders, certified engineers Matthias Wehr and Bernd Velte.
Today, the company boasts a wide range of timecode, studio clock and studio timer products covering both the analogue and digital markets. It also develops and manufactures timecode chips and supplies customers with tailor-made systems for their specific applications.
DK-Technologies forged its first links with Alpermann+Velte via one of its own customers.
“We were working on a project to supply sync generators to one of our customers who was also buying timecode and studio clock products from Alpermann+Velte,” said Andy Page, head of DK-Technologies UK. “The synergy between our product lines and the close relationship we developed as a result of that project led to Alpermann+Velte approaching us with a view to distributing their products alongside ours in the UK and Ireland. We are naturally delighted to be involved in distributing such a sophisticated product line, especially as it complements our range of audio and video metering products and provides additional solutions to our core customer base.”
Reimund Baeuerle, Aplermann+Velte’s senior manager sales and marketing, added: “DK is known and trusted throughout the UK Broadcast industry, which we see as one of the most important markets within Europe. It is a competent company that offers high quality and reliable customer support. The demands we place on our partners are very high and we feel DK has the right characteristics to represent our brand.”
