Copenhagen, Denmark (December 8, 2004)--Audio and video metering manufacturer DK-Technologies has strengthened its position by acquiring Dag2000, a Danish company best known for its production of digital bargraph and stereo peak program meters for the broadcast market.

Dag2000 was established in 2000 after the business was separated out from its previous owners, NTP Electronics. It produced a range of PPM bargraphs, which were easily recognizable by their orange bars. Over the years many different versions of the Dag2000 bargraphs were produced for different markets, for example DIN, Nordic and EBU.

DK's acquisition of Dag2000 effectively completes the circle by enabling the company to offer a full range of metering options with a variety of displays. These run from the simple and inexpensive MSD100 series, which incorporates functions such as PPM, phasemeter and phaseoscilloscope on an LCD, through to high-end products such as the MSD600M series, which offers up to 32 channels and allows advanced surround sound signals to be monitored in a modular structural housing.

Commenting on the acquisition, Karsten Hansen, DK's CEO, said, "Bargraphs are still very popular in a number of European territories, especially Germany, which we consider to be an important market for our technology. While this acquisition allows us to satisfy demand for bargraphs, we also hope that it will provide Dag2000 customers with an easy transition to DK meters equipped with LCD displays."

All Dag2000 products will now be re-branded as DK products and will be manufactured and serviced by the DK team. Distribution will continue to be handled by Dag2000's existing distributor network.

DK has also announced that Gerhard Hansen, who has been with NTP and Dag2000 for more than 30 years, has joined the company as a technician.
