Longmont, CO (May 10, 2010)–DPA Microphones has unveiled its 4017mk2 supercardioid shotgun microphone.
The 4017mk2 has been designed for use in film and broadcast as well as for live stage sound reinforcement and special effects recording.
According to the company, the mic has a self-noise of 14 dBA and a sensitivity of 30mV, which allows it to be used with 48V phantom power portable field recorders or standalone mic preamps. A selectable 1st order bass roll off filter (-6 dB) set at 120 Hz and a permanent 3rd order (18 dB per octave) high-pass filter set at 50 Hz help to minimize disturbances from both handing and wind. It also features a windshield solution from Rycote.
