Waukegan, IL (July 17, 2007)–ETA Systems has introduced a new family of 19-inch rackmount uninterruptible power supplies to its family of Uninterruptible Power Managers (UPMs). Most rackmount UPS products only provide protection from surges and simple power outages; ETA’s UPM also conditions AC power full time due to an integrated design that incorporates a high-energy surge diverter, a power-line noise filter, a low-impedance isolation transformer and a low-distortion sine wave inverter.
“It’s rare to find a rackmount UPS that includes an isolation transformer,” states Dennis Ver Mulm, ETA’s vice president of marketing. “That’s because rack space is valuable, and it’s tough to fit an isolation transformer into a space-efficient enclosure. But we’ve succeeded.” The company’s new rackmount UPM requires 3RU of vertical rack space.
The product is available in four sizes for both North American and international electrical systems–600 VA, 800 VA, 1100 VA and 1440 VA. All models are safety-agency listed, and international models carry the CE mark. In voluntary cooperation with NEMA, DOT and FAA guidelines, ETA Systems manufactures its UPM products with battery disconnect plugs on the rear panel, which when removed, disable the internal battery and eliminate the possibility of short circuit and fire during transport in truck, ship or aircraft. All ETA products are in full compliance with the European Union’s WEEE and RoHS directives.
